Watering your lawn is vital to its health, but water by itself doesn't contain the nutrients that your grass needs to thrive. Fertilizer will make your grass lush and hardy, able to withstand the elements and resistant to weed growth. A well-fed lawn will be much more attractive and full.
How often does my lawn need fertilized? We recommend fertilizing four times a year. We can fertilize your lawn for you in early spring, late spring, summer, and fall. These times are best for fertilizing because your grass will be dormant in the winter, making fertilization less beneficial at that time. We also offer fertilizing for freshly seeded, sodded, or plugged lawn. Fertilizing your new lawn will make it grow 35 percent faster and 70 percent thicker! |

What is your process for applying fertilizer? To fertilize your lawn, we work in steps. First, we will water the lawn so it's ready for fertilization. Then, we pour the fertilizer into a spreader so it's evenly distributed in the lawn. We use handheld spreaders if your lawn is small, and a broadcast spreader for larger spaces. We fertilize the outside of the lawn first, and then move towards the center in straight, slightly overlapping lines. This process ensures a properly fertilized lawn that is well set up to thrive if properly watered!
What needs to be done after my lawn has been fertilized? Depending on the fertilizer, you should water your lawn either right after it has been fertilized, or a day or two after fertilization. You'll also want to keep your kids and pets off the lawn for around a day after watering so the fertilizer can be properly absorbed by the lawn. Follow these rules for maximum effectivity of the fertilizer, and your yard should be all ready for the family to enjoy in a couple days. If you follow these directions and don't see results within a few days, give us a call at (806) 472-4446 and we will make it right! We want you to be totally satisfied with our service.
